Health Care
Medical Plans
We offer three consumer-directed health care options covering traditional medical and prescription expenses. Preventive care is covered 100% in-network. You will also receive discounted rates when choosing from over 420,000 in-network providers nationwide.
Dental Plan
Schneider offers a very competitive dental plan that includes free preventive care.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program is a confidential short-term counseling and referral service available to help you and your family successfully deal with life’s challenges.
Dependent Care Spending Account
If you have children under age 13 or disabled/elderly dependents and incur daycare costs (enabling you/your spouse to work), you may be able to pay daycare costs pre-tax through the Dependent Care Spending Account.
Vision Plans
We offer two vision care plans; both include a free eye exam and discounts on eyewear for all associates and dependents. We also offer an optional materials plan, available at low group rates, for an additional discount on glasses or contacts.
Health Care Spending Account
You can save money by using your health care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) in conjunction with the Definity Health medical plan. The health care FSA lets you put money aside from your paycheck to pay for certain health care expenses for you and your eligible dependents, including your Member Responsibility and coinsurance.
Life Insurance
Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
Schneider pays for your insurance in the amount of two times your annual salary for Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage.
Optional Life
You can purchase additional insurance for you, your spouse and your dependent children at low group rates with Schneider’s optional life insurance benefit.
Travel Accident Life Insurance
Schneider pays for an additional $50,000 Life coverage when traveling on company business if death is due to an accident.
Retirement
Retirement Plan
Our retirement plan matches an associate equal to 2%, 4% or 6% of pay based on years of service. There is no early retirement penalty.
401(k) Savings Plan
Save up to 50% of your pay before taxes (giving you more take-home pay than traditional savings). Schneider matches 50 cents on a dollar on first 6% of savings.
Career Development
Education Reimbursement
The education reimbursement program allows up to $10,000 for full-time associates and $7,500 for part-time associates subject to plan rules.
Personal Time
Vacation
Associates are eligible for vacation after working for Schneider for six months. The vacation schedule is based on your length of service and whether you are a full-time or part-time associate.
Holidays
Associates are eligible for a competitive holiday schedule that includes flex days.
Funeral Leave
The funeral leave policy is discretionary.
Jury Duty
If an associate is called in to serve on jury duty, Schneider will continue the associate's normal pay and benefits.
Military Leave
Schneider provides unpaid time off for required military training and service. In the event that associates are involuntarily called for active duty in a national emergency, the associate's Schneider pay (minus any military pay) and many benefits will continue for up to 18 months.
