Orientation and SafetyExpect Great ThingsWhen you join Schneider National as an owner-operator, you'll be in the fast lane to a great career with a company you can rely on. You'll participate in our driver orientation program, which is three-and-a-half day training session. You'll get paid for attending and completing the session. A DOT Drug Screen and physical will be completed prior to orientation, which includes:
While you are completing orientation, your truck will have an appointment with our shop, where it will go through a Schneider National inspection (including DOT standards and regulations) to ensure that your truck is running at the peak of performance. We will also install the satellite/mobile communication equipment you’ll need to stay connected to the network, as well as the base plate, if taken through Schneider National. Also during orientation, you will be assigned to an Independent Contractor Advisor. Your advisor will be there to guide and support you while you're out on the road, assisting with issues concerning dispatch, pay and additional training. They are your go-to person, whom you can rely on everyday no matter where you are nationwide. Processing Forms
