If you want to hit the open road and explore the country, over-the-road truck driving is the way to go. You'll average 600 miles per haul, enjoying the freedom that comes with a great truck driving career. This is one of the best ways to become a million-mile driver.
Racking up all those miles means you’ll be racking up the money. You can earn up to $73,000 dollars a year, depending on experience and location. In addition to mileage and accessorial pay, you’ll have the opportunity to earn performance bonuses and have access to unlimited referral bonuses of $1,000. Our long-haul driving jobs also include valuable benefits like medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, vacation days and a 401(k) program with company match.
Schneider moves freight for more than two-thirds of America’s Fortune 500 companies. That diverse portfolio will keep you moving and making money year-round. With so many freight options available, we have the ability to match you up with loads that will maximize your earning potential. Plus, Schneider Over-the-Road truck drivers enjoy 95% no-touch freight — making your job just that much more enjoyable.
Schneider understands the importance of a positive work-life balance. That’s why we do our best to get our drivers home as often as we can. As a full-time OTR truck driver, you can expect to be home five days in a 28-day period, or choose a part-time truck driving option.
Some Schneider Over-the-Road drivers get home 17 weeks a year through our unique Home Run program, where three drivers share two trucks. You’ll be out for two weeks, racking up great miles, then get home for a week. While you’re enjoying your home time, the other drivers in your pod keep the trucks moving. This program is great for retired folks, those on their second career or family-oriented professional drivers. Ask a recruiter if the Home Run program is available in your area.
Schneider’s number one core value is Safety First and Always. One of the ways we reinforce that message is by offering the best training in the industry. All of our drivers go through paid orientation before hitting the road. The training doesn't stop after your first few days with Big Orange. We continually work with you throughout your career to keep you on top of your game.
Schneider offers tuition reimbursement of up to $6,000 to recent driving school graduates. Check out our list of preferred truck driving schools and begin your journey to Schneider today.
