Last week (June 6-10), Schneider celebrated Associate Appreciation Days at our three Green Bay, Wis., locations, to thank employees for their many contributions and living out the Schneider core values each day. Of course we strive to promote a culture of associate appreciation every day, but it’s awesome to have a special week each year to draw special attention to it.
Schneider honored associates with casual days all week, highlighting each day with a special theme (Hawaiian shirts, sports, patriotic, etc.). Associate Appreciation Days started with leaders personally welcoming each associate with a Monday morning treat and free coffee. Throughout the week, we also recognized departments with food days and gave associates the opportunity for professional photo shoots with a Schneider truck. It was also a huge privilege to have our brand new 2016 Ride of Pride military tribute truck onsite for all to appreciate (you’ll see more on that soon!).
To recognize our commitment to supporting health and wellness, Schneider organized a “Shape Up Schneider” walk and partnered with myTEAM TRIUMPH — an organization that pairs with disabled riders who want to participate in physical activities. Associates could walk or run the campus trails with myTEAM TRIUMPH captains and in support of our Shape Up Schneider goals (more on Shape Up Schneider soon, too!).
Midweek, Schneider hosted an outdoor company picnic serving free lunch to our associates.
We wrapped up Associate Appreciation week with a jam-packed Friday, including:
- “Take Your Child to Schneider Day” so our youth could see for themselves what their talented parents do each day. There were many fun organized activities, including a carnival zone.
- A Green Bay Packers ticket drawing with proceeds going to great local charities: House of Hope and Golden House.
- A “Philanthropic Friday” event that gave associates the opportunity to give back and donate household items to the charities mentioned above.
Altogether, Schneider associates filled a delivery truck with household items and collected nearly $1,400 for charity. What a rewarding way to end a fabulous week!
Associate Appreciation Days 2016 was a huge success for our Green Bay associates, and we’re excited to host Driver Appreciation Week and Field Appreciation Days (at all our other locations) in September!
What’s the best way your employer has shown appreciation for you?
