Schneider is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Developer who will be responsible for the creative problem solving, design, development, deployment and maintenance of the corporate application server, middleware, and web server environment at Schneider.  This includes responsibility for management, scalability, availability, cost, and integrity for said environments through the use of automation. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in middleware technology planning and execution, and you will consult with and make recommendations to management on the selection of technologies to address business requirements.

About the role:

  • Utilize a detailed and in-depth knowledge of a wide base of technologies to include infrastructure, application & web development, automation toolsets, patch management, virtual environments, remote management, and other emerging technologies
  • Utilize automation tools to provide consistency in installation, configuration, and management.
  • Provide administration, maintenance and support of the web servers, application servers and middleware software, as well as technical knowledge to application developers
  • Contribute to the knowledgebase documenting known errors, workarounds, procedures, and application specific information, and assist in problem resolution for the application, middleware and web environment and systems
  • Lead and/or work on multiple projects that may span a broad range of systems and enterprise-wide complex components, and report status, issues and timelines to management staff and project teams
  • Work effectively with resources from other Tech groups to maintain and expand current service levels, and provide on-call support on a rotational basis.

Ideal candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, plus a minimum of 3 years of IT work experience in infrastructure or network environments in network design, implementation, administration, and support; or the equivalent
  • Superior level computer skills including understanding of application development, infrastructure integration and web application environments
  • Working knowledge of middleware and development toolsets at an enterprise level is required, as well as experience with Oracle Fusion
  • Experience working in teams using defined project management methodologies, as well as training and coaching junior technical staff
