Driver Benefits

This is the first in a two-part series taking a closer look at Schneider’s truck driver pay and benefits. In part one, Angela Fish, Schneider’s Vice President of Compensation and Benefits, will describe what makes Schneider’s benefits package unique. In part two, Pat Lilja, Schneider’s Senior Business Transformation Partner for Driver and Owner-Operator Compensation and Hire-to-Pay Processes, will give an overview of what truck drivers should expect to earn.

At Schneider we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to all associates. We hire the very best drivers and work with them so they choose to stay with us until retirement. We are constantly reviewing and enhancing our benefits package to ensure it meets the needs of drivers and their families.

Our benefits package is also intended to offer innovative programs best suited to our drivers and offer a “safety net” that limits the financial impact of catastrophic life events — ultimately enabling a smooth transition into a happy and healthy retirement.

What makes Schneider’s benefits package unique?

Like others, we offer the typical benefits available to many like medical, dental, vision, paid time off, etc., but we also offer benefits that others do not like the 401(k) company match.

Schneider’s plan offers a company match to a total of 4% of earnings. Think about it this way: someone earning $50,000 a year could get $2,000 a year in company match. If you want to retire and not have to worry about how you are going to make it — our 401(k) plan is just for you.

Critical protection for your future

We also have many benefit programs — in addition to retirement, health and wellness — like accident, critical illness, life insurance and disability coverage that offer additional security. It’s quite possible you know someone who was faced with a very unfortunate accident or illness, who then was out of work for two or maybe three months or more — were they able to pay the mortgage or the electric bill without that income?

Accident, critical illness and disability coverage are exactly the type of benefits that can help you to keep your home and the lights on. For a very low weekly rate drivers can enroll in these benefit's that will then give them the protection they need at the just the right time.

If you are unfortunate enough to have a serious illness, other benefits like Best Doctors are available. For those in the medical plan this is a service that offers FREE second opinions by a panel of the best doctors. This gives you and your family the comfort and confidence that your diagnosis and treatment plans will deliver the very best possible results.

Just scratching the surface

There are also many other valuable benefits available and waiting for you when you join the Schneider team. Here are just a few more to call your attention to:

We want to attract the BEST and keep the BEST — by offering a wide variety of benefit programs that offer safety and security for our associates and their families we are able to do just that.
