Schneider named Junior Achievement's Company of the Year

Junior Achievement Award

Schneider was recently presented with Junior Achievement’s Company of the Year award (for the second year in a row) for having the highest number of volunteers in Brown County (home to Schneider’s corporate headquarters in Green Bay, Wis.).

In fact, during the last school year, 41 Schneider associates volunteered in 61 programs. In addition to teaching in classrooms, Schneider associates volunteered as coaches for the Junior Business Challenge, the Executive Business challenge and are Junior Achievement Board members.

Schneider partners with Junior Achievement because their programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.

By forging a collaboration between businesses and educational institutions, Junior Achievement provides an opportunity for Schneider associates to serve as role models to local students.

Schneider Bulk Manager Peter Beth serves on Junior Achievement’s Brown County Board of Directors, and he says the reason Schneider has so many associates who volunteer is because, “Junior Achievement makes it easy for associates to get involved. They provide all the materials and training that volunteers need to get in front of a classroom of students and really make a difference. I think associates really love the opportunity to see students in their own communities learn about how businesses actually work – and then take that knowledge with them into the future. There’s no better way to have a lasting impact than to educate a child.”
