Schneider is proud to support the career development of our current warehouse associates, but we don’t wait until day one with us to invest in good people.
That’s why we were thrilled to donate to the Georgia Tech LEAP (Logistics Education And Pathways) program. It’s a fast-track online certification program that prepares participants to compete for jobs in logistics.
Originally created for Metro Atlanta 16-24 year olds and veterans, Georgia Tech decided not to stop there, and believed the need for logistics education lied in the surrounding rural counties.
Through donations from JP Morgan and Schneider, a pilot program was launched in 2017 in Newton County, Ga. This pilot program supported 102 residents in Newton, Rockdale, Walton, Jasper, Morgan and DeKalb Counties. The 102 LEAP graduates in the pilot completed a total of 159 courses in Supply Chain Management, Customer Service Operations, Warehouse Operations, Transportation Operations and more.
A graduation ceremony was held in March 2018 (pictured) at the Newton County College Career Academy attended by graduates of the program, their family, the Mayor of Covington, Newton County Commissioners Board Chair, Newton County of Chamber of Commerce and a guest appearance by Buzz, Georgia Tech’s mascot.
Schneider is happy to support Georgia Tech’s efforts in helping people develop skills they need to compete for warehouse and logistics jobs.
