Schneider is seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Manager to reduce costs and equipment downtime, hold vendors/dealers and dealer networks accountable, negotiate warranty and policy coverage for high cost repairs, and coach Schneider maintenance associates on diagnostics and repair procedures. You will also be accountable for the leadership of completing technical/engineering projects as assigned from the engineering group, and working with equipment system engineers to identify equipment issue trends and solutions.


About the role:

  • Manage the relationship with dealers/vendors and dealer networks to negotiate high cost repairs and excessive downtime on Schneider equipment. This includes working with dealer networks, dealership owners, and major suppliers of truck/trailer and equipment to negotiate repair disputes, policy, and extended warranty coverage.
  • Identify equipment defects through work order review and new unit quality inspections and work with OEM's on solutioning large scale equipment issues.
  • Review and own breakdown/defect cost analysis process and initiate control activities. Measure changes in performance due to specification or equipment changes. Report out to senior leadership including action plans for resolution.
  • Partner with the Engineering Team on engineering projects, equipment specifications, issue breakdown trending/resolution. Lead engineering/equipment projects.
  • Monitor major cost sublet repairs to ensure short turn time, compliance with standard repair times, adherence to estimated costs, and that supplier warranty is filed by the vendor appropriately so final cost aligns with original estimate.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor degree (Engineering degree ideal) or equivalent work experience plus a minimum of 6 years relatable experience
  • Extensive truck and trailer mechanical knowledge required with ASE Master Certification. Experience working for or with dealer networks high desired
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop others
  • Financial analytical skills a plus
