Schneider is seeking a detail oriented and process focused Benefits Analyst to serve as a resident expert for Schneider's Associate benefit programs. You will have oversight of carriers or service providers for whom Schneider has contracted to administer our benefit programs to include collecting, auditing, and analyzing data to monitor plan administration accuracy, cost effectiveness, compliance, and other trends on a regular basis. You will also lead benefit projects such as market request for proposals (RFP), execution of annual wellness program, execution and/or oversight of plan audits, and other benefits projects.

About the role:

  • Build and maintain a good working relationships with our carrier and service partners. Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for carrier and/or member issues. Identify problem areas of carrier service delivery processes, troubleshoot issues, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Understand how financial transactions pass through multiple systems (benefit administration, payroll system, general ledger, and carrier systems). Audit process to promote overall program cost containment. Lead third-party plan testing and audit events.
  • Review and audit monthly bills for accuracy and submit for payment. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company.
  • Evaluate, update and distribute Associate enrollment materials, plan documents, summary plan descriptions (SPD), summary of benefits and coverage (SBC), summary annual reviews (SAR), 1095C, and other plan filings.

Ideal candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work history plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of current regulatory requirements affecting benefit administration including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, EEOC, and other regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and/or Access.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential materials and HIPAA information.
  • CEBS designation or PHR/SPHR desired, but not required
