Schneider is seeking an Operations Research Engineer to join our talented team! You will use Operations Research and/or data science/machine learning tools and techniques to analyze client operations and develop practical recommendations to solve business problems. This position requires the ability to develop strong client relationships to understand the business operations. You will work to ensure the utilization of appropriate methods, models and tools in the creation of practical solutions.

About the role:

  • Able to assist higher level engineers in creating optimization models and technical approaches for business issues
  • Effectively communicate technical engineering solutions and results into appropriate business language for clear client understanding
  • Prepare proposals, statements-of-work, project logs and updates, and presentations in a clear and concise manner
  • Maintain consistent attendance while exhibiting behavior in alignment with our core values

Ideal candidates will have: 

  • Masters degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related field required or equivalent work experience. 
  • Less than one year of relevant experience.
  • One to two years transportation or dispatch experience.
  • Problem solving skills, strong communication, and ability to work in a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Working knowledge of optimization libraries such as ILOG Concert, DoCPLEX or Gurobipy
  • Ability to understand and learn high level modeling languages such as AMPL, GAMS, MOSEL
