The Schneider organization has an immediate need for a detail oriented Facility Maintenance Coordinator to provide hands on repairs and maintenance to facilities and related equipment. This individual oversees the maintenance of their assigned sites to include prioritizing and scheduling maintenance tasks and repairs of their own as well as for outside vendors. The Facility Maintenance Coordinator provides outstanding customer service by meeting regularly with customers to ensure alignment and providing updates on a consistent basis. Duties and responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all facets of Facility Maintenance to provide lowest cost of ownership:
    • Act as primary facility contact at the Operating Center
    • Execute preventive maintenance and customer work orders
    • Respond to Facility Work requests in a timely manner while maintaining a 95% customer service level
    • Building cleaning & Yard maintenance including snow removal
    • Manage expenses within a +/- 5% of established budget
    • Write and Reconcile Purchase Orders
  • Responsible for maintenance of safety/security systems at an Operating Center as well as participating in training on new building systems
  • Responsible to act as the interface between the Operating Center and Facility Management Department on all project work
    • Monitor project site
    • Keep customers appraised of status of projects
    • Conduct buying, installation, coordination, as required to supplement project management team.
  • On call responsibility to oversee/direct work whenever required

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Minimum high school education or equivalent work experience. Additional technical  maintenance training a plus
  • 3-5 years of practical work experience related to one or more aspects of the role
  • Maintenance Technician HVAC and Electrical skill would be a plus
  • Supervisory experience desired
  • Experience working with vendors preferred
  • Familiarity with accepted construction practices, Building Mechanical Systems preferred
  • Familiarity with and ability to read blueprints desired
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills; ability to constructively confront and resolve issues; attentive listener
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with associates, leaders and vendors both onsite and from a distance
  • Ability to effectively utilize personal computer, MS Office, Smart phones and related technology
  • Business acumen, to include an understanding of budgeting, P&L statements, monitoring and controlling costs, reporting and negotiating skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills, as well as handle multiple task and priorities.
