Schneider is seeking an IT Database Administrator to be responsible for supporting the enterprises System Database Management functions. Working under general direction from database team technical leaders, this role supports database design, configuration, and implementation. The work performed in this role is moderately complex to advanced and varied in nature.

About the role:

  • Provide support for Infrastructure and Development teams on all database design, development, and implementation phases. Including, but not limited to system design, database design, testing, and database/SQL performance.
  • Interact with technical support to resolve database or process related problems.
  • Install, monitor and general troubleshoot standard database, backup and recovery systems.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of IT work experience in Oracle & MS SQL Database administration, support, and maintenance; or the equivalent.
  • Knowledge of developing, installing, monitoring, and troubleshooting database systems including:
    • Exposure to Installation, Configuration, Upgrade, Migration, Monitoring and Maintenance of Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL database development, networking, mirroring, log shipping, and data partition.
    • Knowledge of installing and maintaining enterprise class backup and recovery software such as Oracles RMAN. 
    • Experience with Oracle Database involving RAC & ASM technologies preferred.
    • Experience with SQL Server Database technologies including availability groups preferred.
  • Knowledge of data synchronization using Oracle Golden Gate would be an add on preference. 
  • Some exposure to SQL Server database performance management and tuning.
  • General knowledge of Cloud Technologies, such as Azure and Oracle.
