Job overview: 

Schneider is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Green Bay to create solutions for business problems through the designing and programming of automated systems. The Lead Software Engineer will create business solutions within Schneider’s cloud-native architecture using containers, micro services, streaming and polyglot event driven processes. The platforms they will use include OpenShift Cloud Platform, Azure/AWS Cloud, Redis Caching, Kafka Streams, Kubernetes, Docker Containers, Mongo DB, Java Springboot, Node.JS, React JS and other technologies. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design and development of fully integrated enterprise end-to-end solutions. 
  • Create technical design for sophisticated applications, while following enterprise and infrastructure architecture principles and practices.  
  • Oversee the implementation of large, multi-team projects  
  • Collaborate with architects to ensure the overall architecture roadmap is in alignment with solution design and implementation. 
  • Design, code, unit test, system test, performance test, debug, implement, document and support solution systems through new system development, enhancements of existing systems or implementation of third-party products. 
  • Participate in developing standards for secure coding practices and application security. 
  • Research new and innovative technologies. 
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to team members as well as present concepts and designs to leadership.

Skills and qualifications:  

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or related field. 
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant IT experience.  
  • Deep understanding of application systems design, development, development patterns, quality assurance, integration methodologies, architectural standards and software/application capabilities. 
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills. 
  • Desire to continuously improve and embrace change.
