Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Buyer in Green Bay to timely and cost-effectively source goods and services for departments throughout the enterprise. The Buyer will create contracts involving materials, equipment, supplies and services that are critical to the day-to-day operations of Schneider.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
- Understand internal customers’ needs and expectations to provide the best value solutions.
- Qualify potential suppliers by using Schneider’s policies and procedures.
- Evaluate financial impacts and risks when developing contractual agreements.
- Help solve problems between suppliers and internal customers.
- Research and evaluate products and services to find the best solutions for the enterprise.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of purchasing, finance or project management experience.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel expected is 10%
