Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Bilingual Senior Yard Coordinator in Laredo to provide customer service to truck drivers who enter the yard. The Bilingual Senior Yard Coordinator will be responsible for the yard's overall flow by assisting drivers with maintenance needs, fueling and regulatory permits and repositioning equipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Organize the yard by moving tractors and trailers to maximize space.
- Control the in/out gate at the yard location.
- Manage the inventory of tractors and trailers in the yard.
- Direct drivers who enter the yard on where to park their equipment.
- Identify specialized freight that enters the yard and follow the established procedures.
- Enter data into an inventory database.
- Complete fuel-related duties.
- Oversee facility showers and issue shower keys to drivers.
- Assist drivers with storing and retrieving personal belongings when transferring equipment.
- Provide information to drivers regarding shipments and unit assignments.
- Complete yard checks to ensure proper security measures are in place.
Skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4-6 years of previous customer service experience.
- Previous tractor-trailer experience required.
- Excellent backing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Can take initiative and is a self-starter.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
