Job overview: 

This one year rotational program as a Driver Manager for Schneider will take you where you are needed most in the business.  Our Driver Manager will provide leadership to a group of truck drivers through fielding phone calls and working to solve problems. You will act as a link between the business, our drivers and customers.  As you spend time and rotate through our different Intermodal departments you will learn how to support a unique corporate function.  The time that you spend in each area will equip you with a well-rounded understanding of Intermodal transportation as well as give you a competitive edge in your career as an up and coming leader. This program concludes with you getting hired into a specific position based on your skill set in a specific location where you are most needed.

This program will broaden your knowledge of various departments and allow you to develop your network among the associates and leaders within Intermodal. It will provide you with countless opportunities to gain more exposure and visibility into the different areas of the business, all while giving you the control and skill set to create your own career path and professional goals at Schneider.

Responsibilities: 

  • Make safety-conscious decisions that ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Balance the needs of our customers, drivers and the business.
  • Provide direction to drivers and ensure excellent customer service. 
  • Manage driver payroll and home time.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify and implement creative solutions to improve retention.

Skills and qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Willing to relocate.
  • Have a desire to travel for one week at a time, 2-3 times per year. 
  • Good at problem solving.
  • Able to work with a variety of teams. 
  • Schneider is not sponsoring employment authorization for this position.
