Schneider is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist in Green Bay to ensure the organization adheres to all environmental-related laws and regulations. The Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist will be an expert in health, safety, security, hazardous materials, regulatory and environmental compliance
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate emerging environmental, state and local regulatory requirements.
- Manage hazardous materials compliance for enterprise operations by developing company programs.
- Audit functions related to safety.
- Analyze rejected shipments by working with various groups, gathering information, maintaining detailed records and identifying trends.
- Support the preparation and submission of cargo claims.
- Complete data analysis on environmental-related incidents.
- Assist with special handling requirements, trainings and equipment needs for new account start-ups.
- Oversee commodity-related incidents and environmental emergencies, including the coordination of response efforts.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical science or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with DOT and EPA regulations.
- Experience with chemical and oil spill clean-up activity.
