Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Senior Fleet Maintenance Strategist in Green Bay to help execute the fleet maintenance strategy and ensure equipment availability meets standards. The Senior Fleet Maintenance Strategist will act as the on-site contact for fleets within their areas, ensuring vendors deliver timely and high-quality service at the best pricing.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main contact between maintenance, operations and Schneider maintenance vendors.
- Perform paper audits of vendors to ensure all services meet expectations.
- Keep vendors updated on new techniques, procedures and technical service bulletins through personal training and utilizing shop associates.
- Work with Operations and Customer Service to manage equipment availability and maintenance needs.
- Check in daily on equipment being repaired in your assigned areas.
- Understand assigned fleets and vendors in your region and assist in the consolidation of vendors.
- Support the roadside emergency maintenance team by communicating directly with drivers and external maintenance vendors when needed.
Skills and qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional work experience.
- Hands-on maintenance experience on multiple trailer types (including dry vans, pups, reefers, lift gates and flatbeds) preferred.
- Understanding DOT laws and regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
