Job overview:    

  • Lead Schneider’s remote maintenance sites in the Northeast.    
  • Provide tactical direction and ongoing coaching to field diesel technicians.    
  • Collaborate with other departments to make decisions that result in maximum equipment availability and consider cost.    

Responsibilities:    

  • Lead a team of field diesel technicians while providing coaching and development.    
  • Ensure remote maintenance sites align with Schneider’s goals, provide exceptional service and keep costs low.    
  • Work with maintenance directors to develop business goals and metrics for each remote maintenance site.    
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to understand business needs and develop solutions to meet them.    
  • Review financial results to determine adjustments and priorities.    
  • Identify actions to improve performance, maximize efficiency and minimize cost.    
  • Travel about 50% of the time to remote maintenance sites. 

Skills and qualifications:     

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.    
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.    
  • Previous shop leadership experience preferred.    
  • Previous transportation industry experience preferred.    
  • Can create a high-performance environment through strong leadership skills.    
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
