Schneider’s career development
For Schneider to be successful now and in the future, we must continue to improve individually and in all areas of the business – from office associates to diesel technicians to warehouse associates and more. To promote professional growth, Schneider offers a wide variety of career development opportunities all associates can take advantage of.
Individual Development Plan (IDP)
Schneider expects all associates to have an IDP so they are working toward new goals each year.
Typically, new associates’ IDPs focus on ensuring they are positioned to fully perform the role, while tenured associates each have unique yearly goals.
Mentorship program
Schneider encourages and facilitates positive mentor-mentee relationships among associates that lead to personal and professional growth.
Mentors provide feedback and advice to their mentees and assist them in developing new skills that will help them in their careers. For mentees, the connection often provides an effective way to learn more about a different role or area of business within the organization.
This close collaboration fosters development opportunities that help both mentors and mentees in:
- Strengthening industry and company knowledge.
- Building relationships and networking within Schneider.
- Gaining exposure to new perspectives.
Seasonal Role Program
The Seasonal Role Program is a great way to explore other roles or departments at Schneider. Seasonal role positions are posted internally throughout the year for associates who are considering moving to a different role or want to learn more about other areas of the business.
Cultural Connection Group
Transportation Management associates first started Schneider’s Cultural Connection Group to discuss ongoing social issues. The group has since evolved to provide a safe space for associates across all lines of business.
The Cultural Connection Group creates opportunities to share ideas and foster interpersonal relationships both at Schneider and in the community. Associates who are part of the group also have the chance to engage in community service opportunities.
The Cultural Connection Group offers development opportunities that help associates with:
- Broadening knowledge of social issues.
- Building relationships and networking within Schneider and the community.
- Developing new perspectives through community service.
Tuition reimbursement program
If your next career move involves a degree program, Schneider has a tuition reimbursement program to help you get the training you need to succeed. Full-time associates may be reimbursed up to $10,000 for eligible tuition-related expenses.
Onsite, live web and E-Learning training
Schneider Learning and Development Team members travel to our field locations to provide onsite training. Live web training classes are also provided throughout the year from our corporate location and E-Learning Training is always available for your individual needs.
