Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Technical Buyer in Green Bay to be responsible for the sourcing of technology hardware, software and tech-related services to support the goals of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the tech team. The Technical Buyer will develop strong supplier relationships and prepare contracts on behalf of the tech department.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an expert in purchasing technology-related products and services, such as software, hardware, professional service and equipment.
- Act as the link between internal teams and suppliers.
- Find and negotiate the best deals on products and services for Schneider.
- Use Schneider’s ERP system to create contracts for purchases.
- Review upcoming contract expirations and handle renewals.
- Address and resolve any issues between suppliers and internal teams.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, engineering, computer science, supply chain or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in complex negotiations and purchasing, with 2+ years in software licensing, sales or purchasing of technology products or negotiations.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus.
- Understanding of software contracts, licensing principles and supplier programs, including Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Expertise in business law, able to comprehend long legal documents and explain them clearly.
- Well-trained and experienced in sourcing and supply chain concepts.
