Job overview:    

Schneider is seeking a Permit Compliance Specialist in Green Bay to serve as an expert on permitting and licensing for tractors and trailers at the federal, state and local levels. The Permit Compliance Specialist will build and maintain programs to ensure effective permitting and regulatory compliance across the organization.      

Responsibilities:    

  • Ensure compliance with hazardous and non-hazardous waste transporter permitting requirements.    
  • Contribute to startup activities by supporting functions like driver support, equipment requirements, reporting obligations and routing expertise.    
  • Stay up to date on heavy-haul and liquor licensing requirements in the U.S. and abroad.     
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and evaluate potential business impacts.    
  • Manage audit functions related to International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) sticker compliance, Highways Use Tax (HUT) compliance and more.     
  • Support the permit hotline by responding to driver and internal inquiries.    
  • Order and renew annual permits, registrations and decals for tractors and trailers.    
  • Manage the distribution and renewal of permits and decals.    
  • Ensure timely processing of permit and vehicle registration applications. 

Skills and qualifications:     

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.    
  • At least one year of relevant work experience preferred.    
  • Experience in licensing is a plus.    
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.      
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
