Editor’s note: This is the third of a three-part series about the career paths of three female diesel technicians who work at Schneider. Read parts one and two.

Marysa Wright’s role as a Senior Service Advisor at Schneider’s Gary, Ind. shop comes with big responsibility.

She’s the first person a driver interacts with when they come in for maintenance and is responsible for obtaining all contact and load information, managing workflow, diagnosing trucks and completing quick repairs.

On top that, Marysa acts as the point of contact for Driver Team Leaders and helps owner-operators schedule preventative maintenance.

Marysa said what keeps her motivated day-in and day-out is knowing her role in the transportation industry helps get trucks back out on the road.

“You don’t think about the true importance of working in this industry until times like these,” Marysa said. “You know you’re a part of something good right now in assisting drivers get products to stores.”

Her journey to working in a shop

Marysa explained that her interest in working in the diesel service field originates back to spending time with her father.

“Before my father passed away when I was 12, I was usually by his side fixing cars,” Marysa said. “As a teenager, I had a part-time job and needed to get my car fixed, so I just figured out how to do it myself.”

Before working at Schneider, Marysa was employed at a different transportation company where she detailed trucks, did data entry and eventually turned into a service advisor. After some life changes, Marysa applied for a job at Schneider as a Senior Service Advisor – a role she’s been in for two years.

What she loves about working at Schneider

Knowing she has room to grow is one of her favorite things about working at Schneider, Marysa said.

“Coming to Schneider was the best decision I’ve ever made, not only for my family, but for myself,” Marysa said. “Schneider gives their associates the tools to help them succeed. When I’m ready to advance my position, I know I’ll have the full support of my fellow employees and leaders.”
