Shop Cleaning Technician

Full time; Monday-Wednesday and every other weekend 10:00 P.M. - 8:30 A.M.

Job overview: 

  • Handle the cleaning of refrigerated trailers and related equipment as a Shop Cleaning Technician in Sterling, IL.  
  • Provide non-technical support in other areas of the shop by handling inventory, cleaning and administrative duties. 

Responsibilities:   

  • Wash and steam clean the exteriors and interiors of trailers.
  • Provide general clean up and maintenance around the diesel shop and yard.
  • Move tractors and trailers between the shop and equipment yard as needed.

Skills and qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer systems experience.
  • Able to meet deadlines.

  • Additional $1.50per hour on second and third shift, plus an additional $.65per hour on weekends.

  • Starting wage of $17.00 - $21.20 / hour based on experience. $1.50/hr (Having 50% or greater of the regular weekly scheduled hours worked after 15:00 local time) and $0.65 weekend/hr (weekend hours are defined as hours worked between 2100 Friday and 0500 Monday) Note: non-exempt US shop associates working the specific 3 day, 12-hr shift defined as every Fri/Sat/Sun or every Sat/Sun/Mon receive a $3/hour differential in lieu of the $0.65 for all hours worked and are not eligible for the weekend shift differential.
