Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Lead Tax Analyst in Green Bay to lead tasks related to tax accounting and compliance reporting. The Lead Tax Analyst will prepare and review tax returns, research tax issues, provide audit support, perform tax planning as we as assist with special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation of income tax provision calculations.
- Prepare and review federal consolidated returns, including workpapers, estimated payments and extension calculations.
- Review state and local income tax returns.
- Coordinate federal and state tax audit activity.
- Address tax issues with business subsidiaries.
- Research and implement tax planning strategies.
- Lead the implementation of new tax technology and tools.
- Review financial statements and validate adjustments.
- Manage the computation and reporting of tax depreciation.
- Partner with other members of the tax team as well as the corporate accounting team to manage intercompany transactions and transfer pricing processes.
- Assist with tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Assist with budgeting and planning process relating to taxes.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance.
- CPA or master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of corporate or public accounting experience.
- Experience in FAS109 income tax accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax principles, including tax compliance, provision, planning and reporting.
- Experience with tax compliance and provision software.
- Experience with tax data management and analytical tools.
