Schneider is seeking a Software Engineer to join our thriving team! You will be responsible for the creation of tools and applications that enable basic to advanced solutions within the enterprise. This role creates conceptual prototypes to test new concepts, develop advanced analytics systems to solve challenging business problems. In addtion, you will monitor the effectiveness of the prototypes. This role also helps research the use of purchased and open-source technologies and concepts.

About the role: 

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of enabling advanced analytics technologies.
  • Work with the Engineering team to develop and apply heuristics and mathematical concepts, such as natural language processing (NLP), simulation, optimization, machine learning, and statistical models to business problems.

Ideal candidates will have:  

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, plus a minimum of two years of IT work experience in systems analysis, designing, programming, system admin, implementation and maintenance of applications within an application domain; or the equivalent.
  • Experience with Python or Java required.
  • Experience with any data science tools such as R, SAS, or SPSS a plus. Experience with the HDFS/YARN/Spark and related tools a plus.
  • Experience with mathematical modeling languages (DOcplex/CPLEX, Matlab, GAMS) a plus.
  • Experience developing applications in a Linux server environment preferred.
