Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Senior Facilities Technician in Wilmer, TX to manage the day-to-day maintenance needs of Schneider’s buildings and grounds. The Senior Facilities Technician will complete repairs, coordinate with maintenance vendors and handle other facilities-related projects.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the facility contact for a Schneider location.
- Execute preventative maintenance.
- Respond to facility work requests in a timely manner.
- Handle all yard maintenance, including snow removal.
- Take care of cleaning-related tasks.
- Coordinate and monitor all contractor activities taking place around the building.
- Solicit quotes from vendors regarding high-cost repairs.
- Be on call during off hours to assist with facilities-related work, when needed.
Skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Excellent facilities maintenance skills.
- Experience working with vendors and contractors.
- Familiarity with building mechanical systems and construction best practices.
- Able to plan and organize activities effectively.
