Job overview:
Schneider is seeking a Driver Training Assistant in Houston, TX to support new students as they complete onboarding and train to become Schneider drivers. The Driver Training Assistant will resolve issues related to lodging and travel, handle payroll duties, coordinate truck assignments and more.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate orientation for students at Schneider’s Driver Training Academy.
- Keep the Operations Team informed on the progress of each student to ensure a successful handoff once training is complete.
- Keep students informed, focused and motivated.
- Assist students with personal needs and issues as they arise.
- Match students with Training Engineers to go out on the road with once onboarding is completed.
- Administer payroll to students.
- Provide other support to the Schneider Driver Training Academy as needed.
Skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office platforms, such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
